Kate Grant
Corporate ESG Manager, QIC
Kate’s role is to oversee the implementation ESG and UNPRI broadly at QIC. Joining QIC in 1996, Kate has had a number of client servicing roles from client reporting and processes to managing many of QIC’s clients across all client segments namely superannuation, government, insurance and retail clients and as business relationship manager for the QIC Australian equities team.
Prior to joining QIC, Kate was the Property Accountant for the British Rail Pension Fund (Railpen Investments) and before that was employed by (then) Price Waterhouse in Brisbane with audit experience in various industries including superannuation for four years.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Economics (University of Queensland) and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the Queensland University of Technology and is an associate member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA). She has completed ASFA certificate courses – Superannuation for Trustees and is PS146 compliant. Kate is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Susan Ryan
Relationship Manager, Australian Super
Susan has worked in the superannuation industry for the past thirteen years and currently is working with AustralianSuper as a Relationship Manager. Susan has a Diploma of Financial Services and is PS146 compliant. Prior to working for AustralianSuper Susan worked for Superpartners in various senior roles including Client Service Advisor for AustralianSuper.
Helen Hall
Fund Accounting Manager, QSuper
Helen has been working within the superannuation industry for the last ten years and is currently the Fund Accounting Manager for QSuper. Helen has prepared accounts for Self Managed Funds, Corporate Funds and Government Funds. This is her second year as Treasurer for the Queensland branch of Women In Super.
Helen is a Chartered Accountant and also holds an Advanced Diploma of Superannuation.
Jessica Burnett
Communications Specialist, Sunsuper
Jessica is a Communications Specialist working predominantly on disclosure documents for the profit-for-members industry fund, Sunsuper.
Jessica joined Sunsuper in 2006 as a Super Cadet. The 12 month Super Cadets Program is coordinated by the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) and is jointly supported by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group).
The program aims to enable idealistic and motivated people who want to make a difference through improving the quality of retirement for working Australians and their families to meet the ongoing and future challenges facing the not-for-profit superannuation sector.
Before joining Sunsuper, Jessica completed a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from the Queensland University of Technology. Jessica is currently completing a Diploma of Financial Services.
Anne McLellan
Client Relationship Officer, Sunsuper
Anne has been a member of the Client Relationship Team at Sunsuper since graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Business. In this role Anne is responsible for a large number of employers. During this busy time and steep learning curve, Anne has also benefitted by completing a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).
Anne notes that WIS is an opportunity to meet other women in the industry and to advancing women’s knowledge and issues in Superannuation and is am excited to be part of the Queensland committee.

Fiona Mann
Product Specialist, Implemented Equities, QIC
Fiona has been at QIC since February 1999. She initially joined the Internal Australian Equities team as a quant and then spent 5 years as an equities analyst in that team. She was responsible for the Consumer Discretionary and Staples and Industrials and her role included company modelling, analysis and valuation.
Prior to commencing at QIC, Fiona spent 3 years as a research analyst at the ASX where her responsibilities included company research, data integrity and project management roles. She has also worked in London in insurance insolvency with Price Waterhouse.
Currently her responsibilities include all client and product development issues within the implemented equity team as well as input into business planning.
Fiona has a Bachelor of Economics from University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment also being a Fellow of FINSIA and has lectured for them.
Fiona has completed an MBA at the AGSM and is currently a level I CFA Candidate.
Cathy Powell
Representative-Employer Services, BUSSQ
Cathy has been working in superannuation for the past 13 years and is currently working with BUSS(Q) as an employer representative for the Brisbane City, North, Sunshine Coast and Mackay Regions.
Prior to commencing at BUSS(Q), Cathy worked for Australian Administration Services in their Operations area, a Communication Specialist at LG Super and Client Relationship officer for AUST(Q).
Cathy has completed her Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Superannuation) and has been a member of the WIS Committee for the past fours years holding roles as the Functions Co-ordinator and Secretary.
