THE FUTURE IS LOOKING BRIGHT

It’s been quite a month since our last newsletter – as evidenced by the stories in this edition!

We launched our collaborative research with Right Lane Consulting , held our inaugural Helen Hewett Oration with Dr Alice Garner, became recipients of a generous research grant from the Hewett/McDonald family, participated in a Carers Australia Care and Employment Summit, and still found time to hold our quarterly sub-committee and Board meetings.

As we head towards the new financial and WIS membership year we are excited and confident about the 12 months ahead. Our next big piece of work is the National Road Show across July-early August, and we are excited to be using this as a concrete way to demonstrate WIS’s commitment to accepting the generous invitation in the Uluru Statement of the Heart to walk together with First Nations people for a better future.

We’ll continue bringing you engaging and relevant content in our member only lunch and learns and providing opportunities for networking and professional development right around the country. Our policy agenda will continue to be ambitious, and we will work with you to advocate for the changes needed to secure a dignified and secure retirement outcome for women.

I send my deepest thanks to Kara Keys as she steps down as Chair and acknowledge the significant contribution she has made to the industry super sector and to WIS. I am excited to welcome Robbie Campo into the Chair role and long time Policy Committee member, Ailsa Goodwin, as the new Policy Committee Chair.

The future is looking bright.
